Top JavaScript frameworks for front-end development in 2021.

JavaScript as a language is famous for myriad reasons, one of them being it’s many frameworks that while being useful, have kept developers busy fighting over which one is better. If you want to start your career in JavaScript development or if you are an experienced JavaScript developer and now want to level up your tech skills, then which framework should you learn?

The easiest way to figure out the best frameworks from a list of many is using the following criteria:

  • Popular based on reliable sites (GitHub, Stack Overflow, NPM trends, Google Trends).
  • A large and vibrant community backs them.
  • Still going strong and not fading away like j Query.
  • Mainstream and established in the community and industry.

1. Vue.js

Vue has seen a tremendous rise in popularity since it was introduced in 2014 by Evan You. Although it started out small, it has since been adopted by companies and business entities across the board, big and small, including major industry players such as Alibaba, GitLab, Sainsbury’s, Codeship, and Baidu.

Vue.js is called a progressive framework for building user interfaces. Unlike other monolithic frameworks, Vue.js is designed from the ground up to be incrementally adoptable. So what does it mean exactly?

It means that Vue.js is a framework that you can progressively opt-in to. Regardless of whether you scale your app up or down, it will work just as well for you and will stay flexible in terms of tooling configuration, number of features, and team collaboration. For example, when a site’s complexity scales up, libraries like Vuex and Vue-router can be adopted incrementally.

Is React a JavaScript framework or a library? This question will have any descent React JavaScript developer explaining its dynamics and why React is actually a JavaScript library for building user interfaces. One of these dynamics is that React is concerned only with rendering the UI and leaves many things up to each project to put together.

Jordan Walke and a group of Facebook Engineers created React in 2013 as a Component-based Web Framework with one-way data flow and changed the Front-end Web Development forever. It also introduced many other concepts like functional, declarative programming, immutable state, which was uncommon in Front-end development. The other breakthrough of React was to introduce the Virtual DOM, which gives better user experience and performance gain.

Today, React is by far the most dominant Web frameworks with no sign of slipping up soon.

In 2010, Google released Angular as one of the earliest hot JavaScript-based Front-end frameworks. However, the later release of React by Facebook revealed the many design flaws in the framework and it quickly became an outdated framework.

Today, Angular is lagging React, Vue.js in terms of hype and interest. But it is a proven and reliable Enterprise Grade framework that will be in the community for years to come.

Inspired by the Ruby on Rails principle “Convention over Configuration,” Yehuda Katz from Apple created Ember.js as a highly opinionated, end-to-end framework in 2012. Ember.js is a strictly backward compatible framework introducing no significant breaking changes since its inception. Where other frameworks from that era (Backbone.js, Angular) are diminishing in popularity, Ember.js is still giving a reliable, productive framework to fulfill the need of modern Front-end development.

Developed in October 13th, 2010 by Jeremy Ashkenas, BackboneJS is a lightweight JavaScript library that allows to develop and structure the client side applications that run in a web browser. It offers MVC framework which abstracts data into models, DOM into views and bind these two using events.

If you want a better design with less code, then it is better to use the BackboneJS library that provides good functionality, is well organized and in a structured manner for developing your application. It communicates via events; this ensures that you do not mess up the application. Your code will be cleaner, nicer and easy to maintain.

Why Internal Linking Is Good For SEO

An internal link is any link from one page on your website to another page on your website. Both your users and search engines use links to find content on your website. Your users use links to navigate through your site and to find the content they want to find. Search engines also use links to navigate your site.

Internal linking is something you have to control as a site owner. With the right internal links, you’ll guide your visitors and Google to your most important pages.

Setting up an internal linking strategy

If you want to set up your internal linking strategy, there are several considerations to take into account. The process of doing so will depend on your site and your goals, of course, but taking the following steps will set you up for an easy and seamless journey.

1. Determine the ideal structure for your site

Imagine your website to be like a pyramid. On top of it is your homepage, there are some categories, and there are individual posts and pages further down.

2. Decide what your most important content is

Then, it would be best if you determined what your most important content is.

In other words, it’s your most important content. It’s about the heart of your business. It’s the content you want people to find when they search for topics or products that you specialize in.

3. Add contextual links

When you write multiple articles about the same topic, link them together to show Google and users that they’re related. You can link directly from sentences in your copy or add links at the end of your post.

4. Link hierarchical pages

If you have hierarchical pages on your website, link parent pages to their child pages and vice versa. Also, don’t forget to link sibling pages to each other. These pages should be related on a well-organized site, and linking them like this will make perfect sense.

5. Consider adding a related post section

Some plugins and modules add complete related posts sections to your posts. If you use one, we recommend testing whether the related posts are associated posts. If you’re not sure, linking to posts manually is probably best.

6. Try adding navigational links

Besides linking from topically related posts and pages, it’s possible to make your cornerstone content more authoritative by adding links to it from the homepage or the top navigation. It would help if you did this with the posts and pages that are most important to your business.

7. Add links to your taxonomies

If you have a blog, it could be beneficial to add internal links to the taxonomies to the post belongs. Adding links to the category and tags helps Google understand your blog’s structure and helps visitors navigate to related posts more easily.

8. Consider adding links to popular or recent posts

The last option to mention is creating internal links to your website’s most popular or newest posts. Preferably create these sections in the sidebar or the footer of your website to have them appear on all pages and posts.

Interlinking your articles increases your website’s visibility. With visibility, you will get subscribers, and your site will rank well in the search engines.
